Become a pivotal part of the North End Community Health Centre’s Managed Alcohol Program as an Outreach Worker focused on harm reduction. Support clients experiencing severe alcohol use disorder in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner.
The MAP Outreach Worker plays a vital role in assisting community members with alcohol use disorder through daily outreach services. This position involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and engaging with marginalized individuals in various locations, including homes, shelters, and drop-in spaces. Your expertise in harm reduction principles will help mitigate the health and social impacts of chronic alcohol use.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily outreach services to MAP participants
• Balance ethical decision-making with program policies
• Collaborate with community organizations and service providers
• Support clients experiencing homelessness and substance use
• Participate in ongoing assessment and medical oversight
Requirements:
• 1-2 years’ experience in community settings
• Understanding of harm reduction and social justice
• Solid skills in communication and adaptability
• Formal education in health or social fields is an asset
• Commitment to equity and diversity
