Big Country Equipment is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic for field service roles in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position offers a competitive base rate and a night shift premium with company-provided housing.

As an experienced licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic (Equipment Technician), you will specialize in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment in a challenging outdoor workplace. The successful applicant will utilize their skills on a rotational 14 days on, 14 days off schedule, addressing various mechanical issues across brands such as John Deere and Komatsu.

Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair heavy mining and construction equipment
• Complete field-service work using computerized diagnostic tools
• Maintain service records and ensure accurate documentation




• Test repaired machines for secure operation and safety
• Follow all safety regulations and maintain trade certifications

Requirements:
• Three years of relevant experience in heavy equipment repair
• Valid provincial trade certification as Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician
• Experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi, or similar equipment
• Proficient in English, both verbal and written
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass background checks
