Job Title: Water Mitigation Department Lead

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Water Mitigation Department Lead to lead our emergency property restoration operations. In this role, you will oversee field technicians, manage mitigation projects from start to finish, ensure compliance with IICRC standards, and serve as the primary liaison between property owners, field crews, and insurance adjusters. Your goal will be to deliver rapid, high-quality restoration services while maintaining safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee daily emergency water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, and demolition operations for residential and commercial properties.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule field technicians and subcontractors; enforce safety protocols and proper equipment usage.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure all mitigation work complies with IICRC S500 standards,
local building codes, and safety regulations (OSHA).
- Scope &
- Estimating: Perform site inspections, document damage, set up drying equipment layouts, and write or review detailed job scopes using estimating software (e.g., Xactimate).
- Communication &
- Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for property owners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and internal managers throughout the restoration process.
- Equipment &
- Inventory: Manage drying equipment, monitoring tools (moisture meters, thermal imaging), and supply inventory, ensuring all tools are maintained and calibrated.
- Quality Control &
- Documentation: Maintain thorough project logs, moisture mapping reports, daily psychrometric readings, and photos required for insurance claim processing.
Qualifications &
- Requirements
- Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in water mitigation or property restoration, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Certifications: Active IICRC WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician) required
- ASD (Applied Structural Drying) and AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) highly preferred.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Skills: Strong leadership, emergency problem-solving, customer service, and time-management abilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces or wear PPE, and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response.
