Join the Edmonton Zone Anatomic Pathology team! With the primary site at the Sturgeon Hospital and additional sites at University of Alberta Hospital, Cross Cancer Institute and the Royal Alex Hospital, this position is an excellent chance for anyone who would like to perform a full range of technical processes associated with Anatomical Pathology.When at the Sturgeon, CCI and Royal Alex, the successful candidate will perform a variety of routine and specialized Anatomical Pathology procedures. Duties include grossing, specimen prep, frozen sections and assisting with intraoperative consults, performing routine equipment maintenance, teaching students, and troubleshooting of various laboratory instruments,At the UAH, the candidate role would also include embedding and microtomy, routine and specialized staining procedures, quality control activities and may also be required to be on call to support urgent procedures after routine operational hours on a rotational basis. Other duties that may be assigned as appropriate.Anatomic Pathology is a hands-on department that is a great place to learn about patient care and see some of the most interesting cases that come to lab. We have a diverse team - with MLAs, MLTs, PAs, pathologists, residents, and many learners on site. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent Anatomic Pathology experience.Recent grossing experience.Specialized knowledge and experience in Laboratory Information Systems applications such as EPIC.Effective time management, strong organizational skills, excellent problem solving, decision making, troubleshooting and communication skills are required.Ability to prioritize successfully in a demanding environment is essential.
