Empower students with diverse educational needs as a School Based Resource Teacher at Kalamalka Secondary. This temporary contract role focuses on individualized education planning and collaborative teaching.
Effective October 1, 2026, this full time position will last until June 25, 2027, or the return of the incumbent. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support students with unique learning challenges while providing case management and guidance to Certified Education Assistants. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in special education practices complemented by significant classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and evaluations
• Supervise Certified Education Assistants in schools
• Support student inclusion and behavioral management methods
Requirements:
• BC Teaching Certificate and eligibility for BC Teachers Regulation Branch
• Master's Degree in Special Education or related
• Five years of classroom teaching experience
• Two years of special education teaching experience
• Training in Level B assessment and knowledge of inclusionary practices
