Become a vital part of Douglas College's chemistry program as a Laboratory Technician II. Support students in their understanding of lab techniques and maintain a safe learning setting.

This part-time position offers an opportunity to lead lab instruction sessions at Douglas College in New Westminster from September to November 2026. You will assist students in understanding proper lab procedures while ensuring the materials and equipment are well managed and safe to use. Your organizational skills will help maintain an efficient workflow during lab hours scheduled between 8 am and 6 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide instruction on chemistry lab procedures to students
• Prepare engaging assignments and demonstrations




• Monitor safe operation of laboratory tools and supplies
• Communicate effectively with students and faculty
• Foster a positive learning atmosphere in the lab

Requirements:
• Extensive knowledge of lab safety requirements
• Experience in maintaining laboratory equipment
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and set priorities
• Proven track record of managing diverse tasks
