The Opportunity

Work outside in one of Whistler's most scenic and exciting environments — Cougar Mountain.

As a Wilderness Guide with The Adventure Group, you'll help deliver safe, fun, and memorable outdoor experiences for guests visiting Whistler. You'll be responsible for guiding guests through our winter adventure experiences while ensuring safety remains the foundation of every decision you make.

This is a highly guest-facing role where you'll be an ambassador for TAG from the moment guests arrive at the base. You'll welcome groups, provide clear safety instructions, operate and inspect equipment, monitor changing weather and terrain conditions, and adapt each experience to the needs of your guests.

Our Wilderness Guides work outdoors in a dynamic environment where no two days or tours are exactly the same. You'll have opportunities to develop your skills and explore additional guiding opportunities across TAG's summer and winter operations.

What You Bring to the Table

- Valid 80-hour minimum First Aid certification, such as Occupational First Aid Level III, Outdoor Emergency Care Level III, or Wilderness First Aid.
- Valid driver's licence; Class 4 licence is an asset.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Previous experience in outdoor activities, adventure tourism, guiding, or mountain environments is an asset.
- Experience operating all-terrain vehicles such as RZRs or snowmobiles is an asset.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors for the majority of the day in changing weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks requiring mobility and the use of both hands.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear safety instructions to guests.
- Positive, supportive, and respectful approach with both guests and team members.
- Adaptable and comfortable responding to changing weather, terrain, guest needs, and daily operational requirements.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A genuine passion for the outdoors, adventure, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Your Days Will Look Like

Guest Experience & Guiding

- Welcome guests, provide clear safety and equipment instructions, and create a fun, professional experience.




- Deliver engaging wilderness experiences while adapting to different groups and guest needs.
- Represent The Adventure Group and Gibbons Whistler with a positive, skilled attitude.

Safety & Operations
- Complete pre-tour inspections of vehicles, equipment, and safety gear, ensuring everything is safe and ready for use.
- Monitor weather, terrain, and environmental conditions and respond appropriately to changing risks.
- Follow all safety, radio, operating, evacuation, and emergency procedures while carrying required First Aid equipment and radio.
- Keep equipment and guest areas clean, organized, and operationally ready.

Hill Shuttle & Trail Support
- Safely operate the hill shuttle and ensure guests follow all helmet, seatbelt, speed, and safety procedures.
- Monitor weather and terrain conditions to ensure safe and comfortable transportation.
- Assist with trail maintenance, base upkeep, and other operational tasks as required.

Communication & Teamwork
- Check in with dispatch, stay up to date on operational information, and communicate clearly with guests and team members.
- Report safety, equipment, trail, or guest concerns promptly to dispatch or leadership.
- Support teammates and contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
