Who we are

Biglow Woodcraft is a small Winnipeg shop making timeless wood goods with thoughtful design and environmental responsibility at their core. We use sustainably sourced hardwoods to create pieces that last, encouraging people to rethink their relationship with material goods.

We're a team of seven who care about doing good work, getting it right, and having a little fun while we're at it. We communicate well, look out for each other, and take pride in what we make.

The job

You'll be our fourth production woodworker, working across the whole shop rather than staying at one station. That means everything from milling and machining to finishing and packing.

You'll help keep our production documentation up to date, make notes that help improve how we build things over time, and, where it makes sense, contribute to new product development and shop improvements.

The schedule

Tuesday to Friday, around 25-30 hours a week.

Mondays are optional: come in if you'd like the extra hours, or enjoy a long weekend. As you get up to speed, there will be opportunities for more hours if that's what you're looking for.

Who we're looking for

- 3+ years in a production woodworking, millwork or cabinet shop.




- Confident setting up and safely operating shop machinery on your own. We're looking for someone who already knows their way around a jointer, planer, table saw, router table, bandsaw, and other common woodworking tools.
- Comfortable troubleshooting the little things that come up, from blade changes to basic machine tuning.
- Consistent and detail-oriented: your hundredth piece looks just like your first.
- The kind of person who'd rather flag a mistake early than hope no one notices.
- Happy working independently while being part of a close-knit team. We're often heads-down on different tasks, but we work together well.
- Bonus points if you've worked with CNCs, Fusion 360, or other CAD software.
