Hiredbuddy is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated WordPress Developer to join our growing remote team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone early in their career to work on diverse client projects, collaborate with experienced developers, and hone their skills in WordPress development, theme customization, and plugin configuration. You will be an integral part of our web development department, contributing to the creation and maintenance of high-quality, responsive websites.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day development and upkeep of WordPress-based websites. Working closely with our designers and project managers, you will translate design mockups into functional, accessible, and performant web pages. You'll troubleshoot issues, optimize site speed, and ensure security best practices. We value a proactive approach and a willingness to expand your skill set through hands-on experience and guided learning.

Key responsibilities include:n- Develop and customize WordPress themes using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.n- Build and modify plugins to extend functionality, and understand when to use existing plugins versus building custom solutions.n- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates to core, plugins, themes, and database optimization.n- Collaborate with the design team to convert visual concepts into functioning code, following best practices for SEO and accessibility.n- Debug and resolve issues with website functionality, performance, and security.n- Support with content migration, importing/exporting,



and setting up new WordPress environments.n- Assist in implementing analytics, tracking, and security plugins, and customizing the admin experience.n- Document development processes, maintain code repositories, and participate in code reviews to ensure quality.n- Stay updated on WordPress trends, security best practices, and emerging web technologies.

Requirements

- 0-2 years of experience in WordPress development or a related field
- Basic understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with responsive design and web standards
- Experience with theme development and using a child theme
- Knowledge of plugin basics and common plugins
- Ability to work in problem solving in the context of web development
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn from senior development
- Excellent time management and self-qualified communication skills in a remote environment
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) is a plus
- A portfolio or example of work is a big bonus
