As a Molecular Technician on a fixed-term contract in the Department of Plant Sciences, you will be driving key projects on multi-trophic interactions within grassland ecosystems. This role involves sample processing for DNA extraction, sequencing library preparation, and managing collection efforts alongside various research groups. Your strong organizational skills will be crucial in effectively coordinating efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct DNA extraction and sequencing library preparation
• Process soil and insect samples for research
• Coordinate sample collection across research collaborations
• Execute NIR spectroscopy and elemental analysis
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary research team
Requirements:
• MSc in ecology, agriculture, or microbiology
• Experience in DNA purification and library preparation
• High throughput extraction and sequencing experience
• Robust oral and written communication skills
• Well-organized and motivated team member
