Enhance the educational journey for Indigenous students with School District No. 22 in Vernon. This part-time role focuses on academic and cultural support for Indigenous learners.
School District No. 22 is hiring a District Indigenous Support Worker for the Seaton Family of Schools. This 10-month, part-time position assists Indigenous students in various subjects while promoting cultural awareness. Collaborating with teachers, you'll develop teaching materials, provide one-on-one support, and help foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Indigenous students in all curriculum areas
• Assist teachers with specialized teaching aids
• Develop and implement Indigenous cultural programs
• Accompany students on field trips when needed
• Encourage positive self-image and academic engagement
Requirements:
• Six months of relevant training or education assistant certificate
• Experience working with Indigenous youth
• Knowledge of local Indigenous community values
• Familiar with current educational technology
• Robust interpersonal and communication skills
