Overview

Areyou passionate about Safety? Do you want to make a difference on a large scale? We are looking for Industry and Program Specialists with advanced experience increating and implementing occupational health and safety programs andinitiatives that prevent worker injury and disease.

Howyou’ll make a difference: You’ll help ensure B.C. workers go home safely at the end of theirworkday.

Whereyou’ll work

AtWork SafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and inour offices based on the operational needs of the position.

We have positions available in the following locations, with a preference for specific industry knowledge and experience per location below:

- Kelowna: Primary Resources (Agriculture, Energy)
- Nanaimo: Healthcare, Municipal, and BC Government
- Richmond: Supply Chain and General OHS experience

What you'll do

- Engage with BC stakeholders to:
- 1) consult and work with industry associations, labour associations, and health and safety associations to develop innovative strategies, programs and resources to prevent workplace injury, disease, and death; and/or
- 2) provide education and support related to workplace health and safety matters with a focus on ensuring that employers can achieve sustainable regulatory compliance and that workers are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
- Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all Work SafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.

- Identify,develop, and implement strategic prevention services, programs,



projects, andinitiatives that positively impact workplace health and safety
- Act as atechnical resource and apply workplace health and safety expertise andknowledge to various stakeholders including health & safety associationsand industry associations
- Buildpartnerships and networks with industry stakeholders to establish positivelong-term relationships
- Prepare anddeliver impactful OHS safety presentations to various stakeholders with thepurpose of educating on key OHS topics
- Supportstakeholders by providing in-depth analysis and improvement of OHS programs,processes and culture, specific risk control initiatives and innovativeprojects
- Travel overnightin BC on occasion. Travel to various locations local to your area may beroutinely required
- Work evenings andweekends periodically, as required

Your background and experience

- Adegreein arelated discipline
- Aminimum of nine years ofprogressive professional experienceandatleast 3years ofhealth and safety experiencesuch as development of risk assessments, designing, delivering, and implementinghealth and safety programs, conducting workplaceinspections/investigations, monitoring/evaluating an organization’s safetyperformance, participating in audits, addressing compliance issues, anddeveloping corrective action plans to improve safety performance.

We’ll consider equivalentcombinations of education and experience.
