is now hiring an experienced, licensed Heavy Equipment Technician to work in the field, servicing customer-owned equipment on site throughout Vancouver Island. As a Field Service Technician, you will spend your days diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and providing preventative maintenance on material handling and/or heavy equipment at customer sites throughout southern Vancouver Island and beyond. As with any customer-facing role,
you will be responsible for representing the organization professionally and providing exemplary customer service and reliable, quality work to ensure their loyalty and repeat business long term. Specific responsibilities will include: Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of material handling equipment including:
Forklifts Stackers Electric carts & tow trucks Transporters Yard Tractors Container Handlers Other mobile material handling systems
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs. Use digital diagnostic tools, voltage meters, electronic manuals, and software to troubleshoot issues. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals. Ensure all repaired equipment is fully operational, clean, and ready for customer use. Maintain a clean and safe workspace at customer sites. Support admin tasks such as documenting work performed and updating service records. Perform other tech-related duties as needed. What are the Requirements?
College diploma, trade school certification, or equivalent hands-on experience. Solid preference for Red Seal candidates, but we are open to meeting individuals presenting journeyperson tickets OR extensive, demonstrable experience. 3-5 years of experience in automotive, forklift, heavy equipment, or truck & coach repair. Valid driver’s license (required for field service). Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Proficient with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measurement devices. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Contract Info / Information sur le contrat
