YOU As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the Châteauguay, QC facility and take ownership of the Warehouse department’s plans to achieve overall business objectives. The Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership for the warehouse operation, leading a team of warehouse employees and coordinating activities across Receiving, Inventory, Shipping, and logistics to ensure Safe, Efficient, and Customer-focused Operations. You will oversee warehouse activities including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and policy compliance. This role operates in a bilingual environment and requires regular communication with employees, customers, vendors, and transportation partners in both French and English. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Plan and schedule Warehouse team to meet customer demand. Coordinate the organization of work within the department, prioritizing and assigning deliveries, leading daily performance meetings, analyzing of daily department results, collaborating with other departments to resolve issues, corresponding with internal and external customers as needed, and scheduling workload for personnel. Be ready to fill in for your employees as needed. Monitor warehouse processes to proactively identify and address barriers. 40% Manage employee performance by leading and motivating employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Consistently exemplify the highest of safety standards and monitor team to ensure they are also adhering to the same standards. Manage staffing and development of employees within the department by participating in interviewing & hiring activities, training, and coaching of employees. 25% Route outbound and inbound freight by using various sources and criteria to determine the best means of shipment. Negotiate freight rate contracts with vendors. 10% Be responsible for the whole Châteauguay facility and equipment services in support of business needs. 10% Improve the flow of work through the department and gain efficiencies by providing guidance and direction the team in continuous improvement efforts. 5% Maintain employee relations by ensuring that employee timecards are managed and accurate, resolving issues in a timely manner and consistent with company policies. Ensure that all Simpson policies and procedures are adhered to by the whole Warehouse team. 5% Any other tasks relating to department or facility as required. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too: College degree or technical school certificate in business, logistics, supply chain preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in Warehouse and Logistics required. Minimum 1 year of experience in SAP (ERP) Warehouse modules or equivalent required. Bilingual (French and English) verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal Simpson Strong-Tie teams across North America.
Experience leading teams in a Quebec Manufacturing, Distribution, or Warehouse environment preferred. Knowledge of Quebec health and safety requirements and applicable employment legislation. Demonstrate leadership skills and experience managing teams. Demonstrates application of financial impacts to Profit & Loss in the management of the department. Demonstrates the ability to effectively mentor and develop team, exemplify Simpson code of conduct. Experience in quantitative analysis by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solution options to problems required. The ability to be consistent, reliable, trustworthy and be a role model for the Warehouse team. The ability to monitor/assess your own performance and others to make improvements or take corrective action. The ability to effectively keep processes, documents, and tasks organized. The ability to have excellent time management skills to keep your department and yourself on task. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to effectively use Word, Excel, SAP and Outlook to carry out work (intermediate level). The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to conduct tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance. COMPÉTENCES ET EXPÉRIENCE RECHERCHÉES

Capacité à communiquer efficacement avec les employés, les clients, les fournisseurs, les transporteurs et les équipes internes de Simpson Robust-Tie partout en Amérique du Nord. Expérience de direction d’équipes dans un environnement manufacturier, de distribution ou d’entrepôt au Québec, de préférence. Connaissance des exigences québécoises en matière de santé et sécurité ainsi que de la législation du travail applicable. Démontrer des compétences en leadership et de l’expérience en gestion d’équipes. Démontrer la capacité à tenir compte des impacts financiers sur les profits et pertes dans la gestion du service. Démontrer la capacité à encadrer et à développer efficacement l’équipe, tout en incarnant le code de conduite de Simpson. Expérience en analyse quantitative, en utilisant la logique et le raisonnement pour déterminer les forces et les faiblesses des différentes solutions possibles aux problèmes, requise. Capacité à faire preuve de constance, de fiabilité et d’intégrité, et à servir de modèle pour l’équipe d’entrepôt. Capacité à surveiller et à évaluer votre propre rendement et celui des autres afin d’apporter des améliorations ou de prendre des mesures correctives. Capacité à organiser efficacement les processus, les documents et les tâches. Capacité à faire preuve d’excellentes compétences en gestion du temps afin de garder votre service et vous-même concentrés sur les priorités.
Capacité à lire et à comprendre des renseignements et des idées présentés par écrit. Capacité à utiliser efficacement Word, Excel, SAP et Outlook pour effectuer le travail (niveau intermédiaire). The position will normally require no more than 5% of travel (domestic and international) annually. WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This is a full-time, position located in Châteauguay, QC. RELOCATION
Relocation may be considered for this position. PAY

This is a hybrid warehouse and office position. The role regularly requires work in both a professional office setting and a warehouse environment. This person will frequently use computers, scanners, phones, printers, and other office equipment, and may also be exposed to heat and/or cold, loud noise, vibration, dust, forklift traffic, and moving mechanical parts while working in the warehouse.
