About the Role The Compensation Associate acts as first point of contact to the HR Compensation inbox by reviewing, researching and providing information to basic compensation enquiries. The Associate provides support for compensation-related analysis and reporting; researches internal jobs to suggest comparative analysis; analyzes job descriptions to determine extent of changes made; and provides technical and administrative support to the SFU HR Compensation team for day-to-day Compensation programs and activities. As directed by Compensation staff, the Associate provides administrative and research support in the evaluation and classification of jobs; calculates salary changes; prepares reports; and delivers communication on classification results to management.
The Associate provides research and data analysis to assist with the completion of third-party compensation surveys; maintains job evaluation records; and develops and implements streamlined administrative processes.
Qualifications Diploma in Human Resources Management, or a related discipline and two years of related experience and exposure to a structured classification system in a unionized environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of the principles of job design and job evaluation theory.
Knowledge of HR systems such as People Soft, SAPs, etc.
Good communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
