The Cannabis Expungement Board (CEB) is a recent state board established to review felony cannabis-related convictions to determine their eligibility for expungement or resentencing. This position will be a member of the Cannabis Expungement Board (CEB) leadership team and play a key role creating and executing the legal and procedural framework of the Board. This position each is responsible for providing direct oversight of a staff attorney and 3 Paralegal Supervisors. This position will oversee the Paralegal Supervisor’s direct reports and coordinate with the rest of the legal team of Managing attorneys and their direct reports, that are performing complex legal research and analysis to advance the goals of the agency.
The position will also provide legal expertise to the agency and Board on expungement and litigation strategy, specifically in criminal law. The incumbent will apply their expertise and analysis when making recommendations for expungement, consistent with applicable laws and in consideration of the impact of potential Board actions.Minimum QualificationsTo be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.Juris Doctor and licensed to practice law in MinnesotaThree (3) years of experience as practicing attorney in criminal law or prosecutionDemonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead, or completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.G.
