Shape a safe work environment as a Health & Safety Advisor at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Lead regulatory compliance, hazard investigations, and training development to protect staff and students.
This full-time role requires a Master’s Degree in Occupational Industrial Hygiene or related discipline. With at least five years of relevant experience, preferably in an academic setting, you will provide strategic planning, develop safety programs, and guide compliance with Ontario Health and Safety legislation. This position also involves liaising with various stakeholders to ensure workplace safety measures are effective and up to standard.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct workplace assessments and safety hazard investigations • Develop training programs for staff and students • Prepare detailed safety reports and documentation • Collaborate with joint health and safety committees • Represent University in matters involving MOL and WSIB
Requirements: • Master’s Degree in Occupational Hygiene or equivalent • Minimum five years of relevant experience • Knowledge of OHSA and CFIA regulations • Canadian Registered Safety designation preferred • Solid consulting and problem-solving skills
