Join Lakeridge Health as a Child and Youth Worker, focusing on mental health support for children and adolescents. This part-time role involves assessment, care planning, and crisis intervention in the Durham Region.
In this regular part-time role, you will work within the Child/Adolescent Mental Health Department, engaging with interdisciplinary teams to support inpatient programs. You’ll develop individualized care and safety plans while facilitating therapeutic groups. A crucial aspect of this role is assessing youth in crisis and connecting them with community resources to support their treatment goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and develop individualized care plans for patients • Facilitate daily psychoeducational and skills-based groups • Collaborate with caregivers and other professionals • Support youth crisis assessments in emergency settings • Connect patients with appropriate community resources
Requirements: • College diploma or university degree in child and youth work • Minimum two years in an acute mental health setting preferred • Experience with crisis assessment for youth • Robust interpersonal and communication skills • Commitment to Lakeridge Health’s core values
