Role Overview

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day human resources operations across recruitment, HR administration, health and safety, backup payroll support, employee policy guidance, HR initiatives, and general office coordination. This role requires a highly organized, service-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and provide timely support to employees, managers, and candidates. The HR Generalist will be approachable, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable balancing people-focused support with administrative accuracy. They will help create a positive employee experience while ensuring HR processes, compliance requirements, and office operations are handled efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Recruitment

· Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, candidate communication, reference checks, offer preparation, and onboarding coordination.

· Partner with hiring managers to understand talent needs, role requirements, and recruitment priorities.

· Maintain a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

· Track recruitment activity and maintain accurate applicant records and documentation.

· Conduct Hiring Manager trainings as required

· Support the creation and rollout of BHGRe’s Campus Recruitment strategy by building strong partnerships with post secondary institutions and establishing company brand on campus.

· Formalize and lead BHGRe’s internship and co-op program.

HR Administration and Employee Support





· Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, organizational charts, employment letters, and HR documentation.

· Support employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, changes in employment status, leaves, terminations, and offboarding.

· Respond to employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, procedures, programs, and general employment matters.

· Assist with HR reporting, data entry, audits, and administrative tracking as required.

Health and Safety

· Own the administration of workplace health and safety programs, policies, training, inspections, and related documentation.

· Assist with incident reporting, follow-up actions, and maintenance of health and safety records.

· Coordinate required training, communications, and compliance reminders to support a safe and compliant workplace.

· Act as a point of contact for general facility and health and safety inquiries and escalate matters as appropriate.

· Lead the Joint Health & Safety Committee

Payroll Backup Support

· Provide payroll backup support by collecting, reviewing, and submitting payroll-related information accurately and on schedule as required.

· Assist with employee updates, timesheet follow-up, absence tracking, and payroll documentation as required.

· Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling compensation and employee information.

HR Initiatives and Office Coordination

· Support the planning, coordination, and execution of HR initiatives, employee engagement activities, training sessions, communications, and process improvements.

· Assist with policy updates, HR program rollouts, and employee communications.

· Lead HR program rollout and trainings.

· Oversee general office coordination,



including supplies, vendors, facility-related requests, meeting logistics, visitor support, and office communications.

· Identify opportunities to improve HR and office administration processes for greater efficiency and employee experience.

Qualifications and Experience

· Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;

· 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role.

· 5+ Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment

· Broad Human Resources (HR) knowledge and experience across core HR functions.

. Ability to interpret, apply, and maintain HR Policies in alignment with legal and organizational requirements.

· Experience with advantages and payroll administration is an asset.

· Proficiency with MS Office; comfort working with data and reporting.

. Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, particularly Ontario regulations, is an asset.

Travel Requirements:

· Occasional offsite travel may be required to support campus recruitment activities, employee events, training etc.

Annual Salary : $80,000-$90,000

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in office)
