Come join the South West Detention Centre team as a Laundry Worker, where you will assist with the collection, sorting and delivering of offender laundry, as well as the operation of the facility warehouse.About the jobIn this role, you will:Perform full laundry dutiesDeliver laundry to all areas of the facility by collecting, transporting, loading and unloading carts and vehiclesKeep an inventory of cleaning products, chemicals, and linen suppliesMaintain work area by cleaning and disinfecting equipment, containers, and carts, and report equipment issues to supervisorWork with assigned offender helpers in the laundry area, instructing, evaluating and guiding them in their assigned responsibilitiesEnsure safety and security of laundry helpers and security of laundry equipment, cleaning products, chemicals and work areasWhat you bring to the teamTechnical and Safety Knowledge and SkillsYou have knowledge of laundry processes such as treatment of linens and clothing, use of cleaning products and chemicals, and operation of laundry equipmentYou have knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)
