Ontario Shipyards is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for our St. Catharines operation. This full-time role emphasizes ensuring reliable mechanical performance on marine vessels through exact fitting and installation.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will report to the Mechanical Supervisor while collaborating with Field Service Representatives. Your primary focus will be on disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling important ship components, following stringent safety protocols. Your experience and skills will be vital for maintaining the highest standards of mechanical functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain strict adherence to safety guidelines
• Mechanically fit and install necessary ship components




• Conduct inspections and risk assessments daily
• Organize and track parts as per task requirements
• Work collaboratively with other mechanics
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years hands-on fitting experience
• Relevant trade certification is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks
• Willingness to work year-round in all weather conditions
