DC Tasa Media is looking for a dedicated Multimedia Journalist in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. Focus on impactful reporting for a thriving journalism landscape in local communities.
As a Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) Reporter, your role will be vital in covering diverse stories from Kamsack and its First Nations communities. You will produce a minimum of one story per day, engaging in interviews and community events. Your collaboration with the editorial team will help meet the journalistic standards necessary for building trust.
Key Responsibilities:
• Report and write local news stories weekly
• Attend community events for first-hand coverage
• Fact-check and conduct research for stories
• Work closely with publisher/editor on pieces
• Maintain journalistic ethics and standards
Requirements:
• Journalism degree, diploma, or related experience desired
• Exceptional writing and interviewing skills
• Knowledge of Canadian Press stylebook
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Willingness to engage with Indigenous issues
