We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to support incoming inspection activities for mechanical and electromechanical components used in a high-quality manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring purchased parts, assemblies, and related documentation meet quality standards and program requirements before entering production. The successful candidate will be organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a French-speakingenvironment, as training and documentation are provided in French. What you will be doing:
Perform incoming inspection of purchased mechanical components, tools, test equipment, and materials to verify compliance with purchase order requirements. Validate that incoming deliveries are complete, undamaged, and meet quality standards. Review and verify technical documentation, certifications, and drawing revisions. Maintain product traceability and inspection records within the ERP system. Inspect machined parts, subassemblies, and finished assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. Perform adhesion testing on painted parts and verify plating reports. Use precision measuring instruments, including verniers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Perform trigonometric calculations when required to support dimensional inspections. Perform connector retention, wire tension, and cable continuity inspections. Prepare, document, and follow up on non-conformance reports. Support the Quality Assurance team and assist with research and development activities as required. Perform minor rework when necessary and provide support to production-related functions based on operational needs and qualifications. What you must have:
DEC, College Diploma, or Diploma of Vocational Studies in Mechanical Technology, Electronics, Aeronautics, or a related technical field. 2–5 years of experience in inspection, quality assurance, manufacturing, or a related setting. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;). Familiarity with quality assurance principles, inspection processes, and manufacturing standards. Experience using ERP systems and production databases. Fine manual dexterity and experience using precision measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and excellent organizational skills. Good knowledge of French. Nice to have:
Previous experience performing incoming inspections. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620. Basic English skills. Salary/Rate Range:
$62,000–$74,000 annually
