The Video Apps team at Apple is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a background in video/photo editing to contribute to the development of innovative tools for creative professionals, video makers, and visual storytellers.

This role requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical, and analytic skills and a passion for new technologies related to computer vision and on-device machine learning.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, write, maintain, and execute end-to-end test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python

Drive all aspects of quality and process improvements to help the team ensure features are ready for release

Report bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniques

Balance a wide variety of deliverables, managing priorities and communicating progress and risks effectively

Translate user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements into effective test plans and cases

Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test script development and reduce manual effort

Work closely with other team members to help coordinate multi-functional test efforts

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience in QA/QE

Minimum of 1+ years experience as a Software Engineer in Test





Programming in Python and/or Swift to prototype features, create test apps, and test with internal tools

Proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps, and backend/APIs

Understanding of the software development lifecycle, SQA testing methodologies, terminology and processes

Proven bug detection, isolation, and regression skills

Able to extract user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements, translating them into effective test plans and cases

Strong familiarity with iOS and macOS

BS in Computer Science, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in digital photography and video, with proficiency in editing tools for both media

Meticulous, analytical, methodical and creative problem solver committed to driving quality forward

Thrives in a collaborative, quick-paced and dynamic organization 7+ years of QA/QE experience; minimum 1+ year as a Software Engineer in Test; programming in Python and/or Swift; proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps and backend/APIs; strong familiarity with iOS and macOS; BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
