Rate of Pay: $32.33 per hour
The start date will follow the selection process.
Main Function Perform the duties of a bricklayer.
Characteristic Under the supervision of a Foreperson.
Duties
Lay brick, concrete block, building stone or shaped tile in the construction and maintenance of sewers, manholes, catchbasins, valve chambers, retaining walls or building walls.
Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
Perform other related duties as required.
NOTE: This classification automatically converts to a Winter Control Position for the Winter Control Period in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications Education and Training
Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
Experience
Minimum of three years (3) experience as a Bricklayer.
Other Requirements
Must be able to work without direct supervision and carry out all work required in the construction of brick and block manholes, catch basins, valve chambers or retaining walls.
Ability to interpret plans and specifications as required.
Must be able to effectively complete C.M.M.S. Crew Cards.
Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence and have an acceptable driving record.

Development opportunity rate of pay: $30.71 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
