Sr Coordinator, Children & Early Teens in Operations & Activations-Mat Leave The purpose of the coordinator position is to reinforce policies and protocols to guide the operation and curriculum development of Children & Early Teens Services with high quality, inclusive and culturally diverse programs that meet the various needs of the children. The coordinator will ensure all programs must comply with the regulations, standards and requirements set by all the applicable Ministries, Toronto Children’s Services, Toronto Public Health, and Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries as well as promote the core values and strategic plan directions of BGC East Scarborough

Report to: Sr. Manager, Children & Early Teen Services

Key Duties and Responsibilities of this position include :

Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate quality out-of-school programs for children 6 to 14 years old.

Develop, implement, and recommend effective maintenance and safety programs, procedures, and guidelines; conduct periodic inspections and ensure program facilities are properly maintained for optimal safety.

Work in collaboration with site supervisors to plan, develop and implement daily programs, enrichment programs, PA Day and school break programs.

Support site supervisors to develop monthly program calendars

Work in partnerships with community organizations, external funding partners or program projects by using the Community of Practice (COP) Model

Intervene in individual or group situations

Identify and report trends and priorities needed for children and youth in the community. Using High Five to evaluate program

Participate in the ongoing collection of data for purposes of project evaluation. Determine the gaps in service delivery and recommend strategies for improvement





Display commitment to excellence and look for ways to improve and promote the quality of programs and service

Ensure that the applicable Ministries, Toronto Children’s Services, and Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Culture policies, protocols, and guidelines are being followed at program sites. Ensure implementation of policies and procedures and develop others if necessary.

Ensure all participants are treated with respect and fairness as per the Club’s Code of Conduct.

Support, mentor and coach supervisors, program employees, and volunteers formally and informally on a daily basis.

Advise and give support to staff when resolving problems

Ensure that all staff and volunteers create a non-judgmental environment for program delivery

Demonstrate leadership by encouraging communication, participation and motivation while fostering a positive team environment

Encourages the professional development of programming employees

Assist with the planning and facilitation department training

Assist with registration as needed

Verify and approve supplies for programs

Prepares program materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and announcements; uses different channels to maximize community outreach and participation.

Qualifications:

Completion of a College or university degree in Child and Youth work, Early Childhood Education, Social Work or Recreation or a related field

A minimum of 5 years of experience working with children aged 6-12.





Possess Standard First Aid and CPR+AED

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Childhood Development Ability to travel to all service locations, employer sites, outreach, and networking events.

Current Standard First Aid and CPR.

Experience managing large projects with program delivery, policy planning, implementation and reporting

Experience leads a group of children in a variety of activities. Experience dealing with challenging people and environments

Ability to manage staff within a solution-focused, corrective action model

Effective relationship management experience and skills to work with multi-sectoral partners

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-setting or independently and manage multiple responsibilities and priorities with high attention to details

Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written, and verbal communication and presentation skills

Driver & Travel Requirement (Mandatory)

Access to a reliable vehicle.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to meet youth participants, employers, and community partners.

Job Type: On-site (100%)

Employment Type: Full time (37.5 hours per week) Salary Range: $48,000– $53,000 per year
