Defence Construction Canada is seeking a detail oriented and self motivated Coordinator, Construction Services to support a growing portfolio of low complexity construction, professional services, and service contracts. In this role, you will take ownership of day to day contract administration, working with a high degree of independence while engaging regularly with contractors and Client Partners. You will be relied upon to interpret contract documents, assess quality of work, manage scope changes, and address contract related risks within your delegated authority. Success in this position requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to navigate dynamic site conditions with confidence and professionalism. Travel to other sites (such as Borden) — at least twice per month—will be required to maintain strong alignment, collaboration, and connection with the broader team.
The Coordinator, Construction Services ensures compliance with service line policies and procedures while supporting the delivery of timely, accurate, and high quality contract management services. You will participate in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors and Client Partners, review progress claims, and contribute to issue resolution throughout the contract lifecycle. Working collaboratively with colleagues and, when required, under the functional direction of a Contract Coordinator on higher complexity files, you will help develop practical solutions that support project success. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, proactive problem solving, and maintaining strong relationships that reinforce DCC’s reputation for service excellence.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive.
Primary
Manage and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
Coordinate and solve day-to-day contractual problems
Monitor and control schedules
Liaise with Client-Partner representatives (e.g. on contract-related problems and risks)
Maintain site activity records (e.g. photos, activity reports), as required
Assess, negotiate and issue contract change orders
Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
Other
Ensure health and safety, industrial security and environmental compliance
Carry out financial control for contracts
Coordinate consultant construction review and third-party testing
Manage contract risk
Other duties as assigned
