Provide expert financial planning support for the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs in Yellowknife. This role focuses on budget management and resource allocation decisions.
As a Financial Planning and Budget Officer, you'll report to the Manager of Financial Services. This position requires solid skills in financial analysis, budget forecasting, and ensuring adherence to GAAP principles. With a focus on the Department's annual budgets, you'll play a critical role in tracking submissions and managing revenue budgets effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage ongoing financial control of departmental budgets • Monitor Financial Management Board submissions and decisions • Track financial implications of third-party agreements • Consolidate financial planning and budget exercises • Support senior management with financial planning advice
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, or related field • Completion of third level towards a recognized accounting designation • At least two years of directly related experience • Proficiency in MS Office and financial planning tools • Strong organizational skills to handle priorities
