Compensation: $32-40/hour plus up to 5% bonus capped at 150%

Shift Day (Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm)

Job Summary Perform plant maintenance activities to ensure the preparation and readiness of all such plant equipment to meet the demands of the Giesecke &Devrient; (G+D) business in achieving Service Level Agreement (SLA), Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) and equipment reliability. Assist the department Lead- Hand / Manager in ensuring the maintenance of all equipment is performed at the optimum level and consistency to ensure that production demands are met according to the G+D standards, in accordance with its Global requirement.

Responsibilities

Ensure machinery readiness and uptime are maintained at the G+D expected standard

Perform work at a level that ensures compliance with all G+D standards, including Environmental, H&S;, etc.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components of production equipment

Source and order spare parts and monitor spare parts inventory levels and write requisitions as needed to replenish parts, supplies and components

Ensure compliance with all production requirements are met in accordance with Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Complete the "Preventative Maintenance Program" on equipment as scheduled and where necessary to achieve better performance and reduce company risks, and comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) regulations

Provide ongoing support to all departmental needs for daily processing and throughput

Perform changeover, set up and adjustments as required by the production department

Fabricate parts on a lathe, milling machine, drill press and other machines to effect repairs to machinery/parts





Perform various kinds of welding practices to build and repair machinery

Must be able to solder electronic parts

Provide set-up support to machine operators

Ensure that the facilities and equipment meet business requirements, including audit, safety and security requirements

Source and order spare parts and monitor spare parts inventory levels and write requisition as needed to replenish parts, supplies and components

Assist in the planning of maintenance activities to improve processes and procedures according to G+D standards

Follow established company policies and procedures at all times while performing work at G+D facilities

Ensure safety standards are used in compliance with OH&S; and all company, local and federal guidelines

Fabricate and modify new and existing components and equipment as assigned

Participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs

Communicate with all departments and address any facility or production-related concerns

Ensure all contractors follow OH&S; procedures and monitor them for conformance to SLA

Complete all maintenance service requests as assigned

Perform routine diagnostic maintenance on all production /facility equipment to minimize failure

Respond to changes in requirements in security, safety, equipment failure, and or accidents as stipulated in accordance with the company code of severity

Ensure visitors and contractors are managed in compliance with G+D standards and expectation

Perform work with a bias for effective teamwork, a strong work ethic with friendliness and flexibility

Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all vendors, contractors and fellow employees

Maintain production equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications

Assist in the monitoring of work being performed by outside contractors as assigned

Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Comply with G+D Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job-specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures

Qualifications,



Experience and Educational Requirements

Must have an electrical degree or similar background

Minimum of 2 years experience with production equipment is ideal in maintenance and repair

Plant Maintenance and or a Technology-based background

Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings

Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication

Basic Computer skills and knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) programmes

Progression through on the job experience in a similar industry or role

Experienced working as a member of a skilled team of tradesmen in mechanical, electrical and or electronics systems

Looking for an electrical Engineer

Electrical, electronic and laser experience is an asset

Completion of Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited university

Post-secondary education at the university or college level and or technical trade certificate is an asset

Working Conditions

Able to work the night shift when needed

Ability to respond to business needs 24/7

Able to work in a highly secure environment

Ability to relate to a highly demanding environment while meeting tight schedules

Safety shoes and uniform required on the production floor

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity around moving parts, and awareness of electro-mechanical power

May be required to work long hours

Ability to climb ladders

Good eyesight and good hand-eye coordination

Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods

Ability to work or become exposed to all kinds of outside weather conditions
