Stollery Children's Hospital is looking for a compassionate, skilled Child Life Specialist to join its interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role emphasizes family-centered care while promoting emotional, social, and physical development for hospitalized children. You will be responsible for implementing and evaluating therapeutic interventions, helping children cope with medical procedures, and providing engaging activities that foster resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement therapeutic play and normalization activities
• Assess and research developmental needs for children and families




• Introduce coping strategies during medical procedures
• Provide diversionary experiences and facilitate special events
• Evaluate and coordinate group therapy interventions
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Child Life or related field
• Child Life Specialist Certification required
• Experience in pediatric care, specifically critical care, is preferred
• Strong compassion and communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic healthcare team
