PSPNET seeking an enthusiastic and relationship-focused individual to support community-based research activities in Ontario!
We provides free, confidential, and evidence-based online therapy to Canadian public safety personnel (PSP) as well as their spouses and significant others. Join our diverse team of English- and French-speaking clinicians, researchers, public safety personnel, and administrative and operational staff who are located across Canada to support the development, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of our services.
Potential Responsibilities
Research Development and Implementation:
- Contribute to the development, adaptation, and refinement of our courses to be used in PSPNET research.
- Assist investigators with the early testing and evaluation of new or revised materials prior to their use in research studies.
- Support implementation of research initiatives, including obtaining stakeholder input.
- Contribute to research examining the reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and sustainability of PSPNET.
Research Engagement:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with public safety organizations and other stakeholders to support research recruitment and participation.
- Engage stakeholders to identify research priorities, needs, and barriers and facilitators to PSPNET research.
- Support recruitment activities through meetings, conferences, workshops, and community events.
- Identify opportunities for research partnerships, collaborative studies, and grant development.
Research Data Collection, Analysis, and Dissemination
- Collect, input, and analyze data related to research recruitment and study enrollment.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from public safety personnel (PSP), stakeholders, and community partners.
- Conduct research on barriers and facilitators to PSPNET reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation and sustainability.
- Prepare research reports, presentations, and other materials based on findings.
- Present and disseminate research findings to professional, academic, and community audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Public Safety Experience (Strongly Preferred): Preference will be given to applicants who are staff (paid or volunteer), or retirees with experience in one or more of the following sectors: border services, communications, corrections, emergency management, fire, intelligence, paramedics, policing, search and rescue, and more. We will also consider public safety personnel family members.
Research-Relevant Skills:
- Ability to collect, input, organize and synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement or community-engaged research, including developing partnerships with public safety organizations and other stakeholders.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including preparing reports, presentations, infographics and other strategies for sharing findings.
- Excellent organizational, project management and time-management skills, with robust attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative national team.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Ontario and Canada for conferences and research activities.
Other Assets
- French Fluency
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant social science, health science, public safety-related, communications, or community engagement discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Salary Range = $50,667-89,900 (based on experience and qualifications)
