Join our engineering team as a 2nd Class Engineer with Northumberland Ferries Limited, ensuring efficient ferry operations. This full-time position is located in Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS.
As a 2nd Class Engineer, you will support vessel operations by overseeing machinery maintenance and cleanliness. With responsibilities including supervising engine room staff and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, you will directly report to the Chief Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the Engineer of the watch in machinery spaces
• Carry out maintenance and inspections as directed
• Supervise and manage all watch personnel
• Report safety and operational issues to the Chief Engineer
• Maintain thorough records of maintenance activities
Requirements:
• Hold a valid 2nd Class Marine Engineer Certificate
• Possess a valid Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
• Strong understanding of safety and SMS documentation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required
