Job Description We are seeking an experienced
Capital Market Application Support Engineer
to provide production support for mission-critical Capital Markets applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Unix/Linux, SQL, Control-M, and enterprise monitoring tools such as Geneos, along with hands‑on experience supporting Front Office, Trading, and Market Data applications. The role requires strong analytical skills, proactive monitoring, incident management, and close collaboration with business users and technical teams to ensure maximum application availability and performance.
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Strong hands‑on experience with
Unix/Linux
administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with
ITRS Geneos
or equivalent enterprise monitoring tools.
Hands‑on experience with
Control‑M
job scheduling, batch processing, and monitoring.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
Experience in Application Production Support, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.
Knowledge of application monitoring, log analysis, and performance troubleshooting.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide L2/L3 production support for Capital Markets applications, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
Monitor application health, infrastructure, batch jobs, and system performance using Geneos and enterprise monitoring tools.
Support and manage Control‑M job scheduling, batch execution, and failure recovery.
Troubleshoot application, database, Unix/Linux,
and middleware issues to minimize production downtime.
Perform SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and business request analysis.
Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement permanent fixes.
Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams to resolve production issues.
Participate in change management, deployment validation, release support, and post‑implementation monitoring.
Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Ensure SLA compliance and provide timely communication during production incidents.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation and process optimization.
Domain Expertise
Experience supporting
Capital Markets
applications.
Exposure to
Trading Desk, Front Office, Middle Office, or Quantitative
platforms.
Positive understanding of
trade lifecycle, market data, financial instruments, and capital markets operations .
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Experience with
Microsoft Copilot
or AI‑powered productivity tools.
Knowledge of
DevOps practices
and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to
Kubernetes
and containerized environments.
Experience with
Grafana
monitoring and observability tools.
Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as
Azure, AWS, or GCP .
Experience with
Shell Scripting
or
Python
for automation.
