SOUTHLAND is currently seeking a Journeyperson Mechanic to join our team of maintenance professionals. This is a self-directed and independent worker’s dream role! This role is responsible for servicing/repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is not confined to Okotoks shop activities as the Mechanic may be required to perform mobile field work on units as required. Duties Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses CVIP Inspections Respond to breakdowns Spring and winter maintenance Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines Requirements Journeyperson Ticket (Automotive)



Own hand tools Fluent in written and spoken English 2 – 5 years of related experience Valid Driver’s License (Class 2 or 3 considered an asset) CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset Analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors) Computer proficiency Remuneration $40.00 per hour Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday) Employee Advantages Plan (after 3-month probation) Group Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Plan (available after 12 months) Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in last quarter of the year, and each subsequent year)
