Exciting full-time role available for a Housing Options Officer with a Local Authority client in North London. This six-month temporary position requires expertise in homeless case management and effective client communication.
In this role, you will support individuals at risk of homelessness, managing a caseload of around 40. Your responsibilities will involve assessing client needs, conducting interviews, and implementing solutions to alleviate housing issues. With a focus on the Housing Act, you will contribute to maintaining the Council’s prevention agenda. Attendance at the office for two days weekly is critical for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interview clients and provide solutions to housing concerns • Process homeless applications in compliance with housing law • Advise clients on homelessness prevention • Evaluate eligibility for private sector housing • Update Personal Housing Plans (PHPs) regularly
Requirements: • Relevant experience in local authority housing support in recent years • Sound knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act • Robust administrative capacity and IT skills • Ability to engage with challenging clients • Experience with the LOCATA system
