Keyera is currently seeking a Pipeline Technician to join our Pipelines Operations Team in Sarnia, Ontario. This role supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Great Lakes District pipeline system, including associated custody transfer locations and pump stations. The successful candidate will support day-to-day pipeline operations and field activities, including pigging, surveillance, sampling, ground disturbance, damage prevention, and pipeline maintenance coordination. The successful candidate will be expected to reside within 100 km of the assigned field office in Sarnia, Ontario. RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Outstanding Lakes District pipeline system, including associated custody transfer locations, pump stations, and field assets. Coordinate with the Control Centre operations team regarding site or pipeline work requiring temporary shutdowns, scheduled outages, or other operational impacts. Coordinate with the Sarnia maintenance group to ensure work is properly planned, scheduled, permitted, and executed safely. Conduct regular pipeline operating activities, including pigging, chemical batch runs, drain downs, nitrogen purges, sampling, and related field tasks.
Respond promptly to Ontario One Calls and pipeline locates as required. Patrol rights-of-way and crossings, maintain accurate surveillance documentation, and support vegetation control on operating sites. Liaise with engineering, surface land teams, contractors, and other stakeholders for scheduled work on Great Lakes District pipelines and third-party activities in and around rights-of-way. Collaborate with integrity engineers on inspections, cut outs, tie-ins, and leak detection testing following maintenance work. Work with the Product Quality Specialist to support investigation and resolution of product specification concerns. Support project teams with commissioning and start-up plans for current assets, including troubleshooting operational concerns as required. Maintain accurate records and documentation in support of pipeline operations, maintenance activities, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices. QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of related experience in pipeline operations, well operations, pipeline maintenance, or a similar field environment. Previous experience with pipeline operations, pigging, pipeline maintenance practices, ground disturbance, damage prevention, locates, ROW surveillance, and/or integrity-related field activities would be considered an asset. Previous experience using CMMS systems such as Maximo or SAP would be considered an asset. Strong computer skills with the ability to interpret equipment manuals, service notices, technical documents, and operational data. Willingness and availability to travel for extended periods, up to 25%, throughout the assigned district to perform field work as required. Permanent residency within 100 km of the Sarnia Facility. A valid driver's license and ability to provide a 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver's abstract). This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy. Comfortable performing physically active field work, including occasionally lifting or carrying moderately heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and walking long distances over varied terrain. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in operating environments requiring appropriate protective clothing and equipment. Salary
