Join The Salvation Army as a Direct Support Worker and contribute to the well-being of youth at Bethany Home. This role focuses on providing protected, supportive care for female youth in crisis, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met.
In this hands-on position, you will be instrumental in shaping the daily lives of our residents. Your commitment to counseling and crisis intervention will aid in their recovery and development. Collaborate with staff and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support for each resident’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and support resident activities in the home
• Conduct crisis interventions and manage incident reports
• Adhere to program policies while maintaining safety standards
• Facilitate communication with families and social services
• Prepare nutritious meals and maintain hygienic conditions
Requirements:
• Minimum of one year experience in mental health or youth services
• Completion of a relevant post-secondary program
• Certification in First Aid/CPR necessary
• Competence in documentation and communication
• Willing to obtain crisis intervention training
