Join the Islands Trust as an Island Planner focused on land use planning and community engagement in a hybrid mode on Salt Spring Island, BC. Utilize your expertise to support local governance.In this key role with BC Public Service, you will lead planning activities that serve multiple Local Trust Committees, working independently to ensure timely project management. Your responsibilities include processing planning applications, preparing legal documents, and advocating for community interests.



A commitment to First Nations reconciliation and best practices is paramount in this position.Key Responsibilities:- Lead planning initiatives for Local Trust Committees and community commissions- Handle complex planning applications and documentation- Represent Islands Trust in public discussions and meetings- Engage with agencies and First Nations on planning concerns- Uphold community engagement best practices and service deliveryRequirements:- Graduate degree in land use planning or equivalent- Five years of relevant planning experience- Driver’s license necessary- Knowledge of rural community planning legislation- Experience managing projects and community interactionsLeverage your skills in planning to enhance community resilience and development within the Islands Trust framework.#J-18808-Ljbffr
