Compensation Pay Range $31.73-$38.57
Position Summary
Work effectively in a cross-functional team workplace
Receive, verify, label and prepare clinical specimens for testing
May be required to register patients and request tests in the LIS, procure appropriate specimens, and perform non-complex laboratory testing
Provide service coverage for meals, breaks, vacation and sick leave as required.
Comply with / adhere to health and safety guidelines which include the practice of universal precautions
Perform all duties in accordance with the standards outlined in the laboratory quality assurance program
Show initiative and assist co-workers in timely result processing and reporting
Assist in the instruction of medical laboratory students, residents, nurses and other health care workers as required
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
OSMT or College Technician (MLA) Certificate (Essential)
Experience in newborn screening (Preferred)
Demonstrated verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills (Essential)
Demonstrated commitment to learning (Essential)
Demonstrated initiative; team work; flexible work schedule (Essential)
Works effectively under minimal supervision (Essential)
Criminal Record Check (Essential)
Bilingual (English/French) (Preferred)
