Manager, Equity Youth Programs (Newcomer Initiatives) Department Service Programs

Salary range $ 64,000 - $71,000

Job type Full-Time, Permanent, Hybrid working 2-3 days per week

The responsibilities

Manage planning and implementation of current and future newcomer programs as guided by Kids Help Phone’s Action Plan for Newcomers to Canada

Manage day-to-day program operations such as budgeting, developing project documentation (e.g.: briefs, proposals, project & work plans etc.), internal/external reporting and evaluation

Support the development of marketing materials and promotional activities and campaigns aligned with our program deliverables

Provide leadership and supervision to the Equity Programs Coordinator, Newcomer Initiatives in efforts to identify and engage key organizations, communities and volunteers

Facilitate cross-functional planning groups to align activities and ensure effective program outcomes.

Track programs’ progress and report periodically on deliverables and impact on a regular basis internally and externally.

Oversee and support the development of training initiatives relevant to Newcomer Initiatives in collaboration with external vendors and internal clinical staff

Lead the development and management of external partnerships to support the program’s initiatives, identifying and cultivating key stakeholders such as media, vendors, youth, organizations, schools, and community groups.

Track and manage stakeholder relationships, outreach packages, and reports using Salesforce.

Develop and deliver presentations at networking events,steering committees & community activations across the country,in person and virtually.

Travel asrequiredto events or relationship building opportunities

Program Leadership & Operations:

Manage the program budgetand liaise with Finance and KHP Foundation ensuring expenses are tracked, processed, and reported appropriatelyagainst funding goals.

Monitor program impactand progress towards KPI’s on an ongoing basis, sharing progress with leadership andtestingnew approachesto improve outcomes and funder deliverables

Lead program reporting andwork withGovernment Relations &Advancement; teamstosupportdonor/fundercommunications through impact reporting,storytelling,proposal& grantdevelopment





Identify emerging issues that impact newcomer and/or diverse populations and proactively ensure our programming and resources are responsive to evolving needs for newcomer populations

Other duties as assigned

The qualifications

3-5 years' experience in project or program-based roles, including leading, managing, and implementing long-term programs; including health promotion, youth engagement, outreach and partnerships management

Post-secondary diploma/degree in humanities or business and/or demonstrated related abilities through experience

Strong understanding and / or interest in the mental health landscape for youth in Canada

This position requires extensive knowledge of issues experienced by newcomer youth, a strong understanding and demonstrated experience working with diverse racial and ethno-cultural communities

Experience developing programs, processes, tools, policies and / or services

Experience working in multi-stakeholder environments (internally) and externally with multiple partners

Strong communication and presentation skills to manage meetings, facilitate groups, presentations and media communication

Knowledge & experience in proposal & grant and report writing

Strong time management, projectmanagementand interpersonal skills

Proficient in MS Office applications, project management tools and software

Preferred/ Advantageous:

Bilingualism/Multilingualism in English and French and/or other languages is an asset

PMP designation or similar

Knowledge of services and laws affecting the lives of Canadian children and youth from equity-deserving backgrounds

Good technical ability; comfortable using Microsoft Office, Project management tools, navigatingdashboards and pulling reportswith SalesforceCRM

Experience supervising staff; leading cross functional teams and coaching participants
