Support families with Good Shepherd as a Family Support Worker, working 37.5 hours weekly. Provide essential services from crisis management to housing support in a rotating schedule.
At Good Shepherd's Family Centre, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing dignity and self-determination for individuals and families. This position requires a compassionate approach and skills in community outreach, crisis intervention, and supportive counseling. You’ll work in an interdisciplinary team to ensure residential safety and the well-being of service users.
Key Responsibilities: • Provide crisis prevention and supportive counseling to users • Conduct assessments, intake,
and housing-based case management • Perform unit inspections and cleaning tasks for safety • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive service user information • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements: • Post-secondary education in Social Services or related field • Minimum of 1-year experience in community outreach or shelters • Knowledge of issues affecting families, including homelessness • Robust interpersonal and conflict resolution skills • Commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices
