BC Hydro TEEMA is currently seeking an
Operational Technology Engineer (E2)
to support BC Hydro on a long-term contract prospect based out of the Edmonds office in Burnaby. This position will support BC Hydro Generation capital projects, working with
industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT) networks, and generation infrastructure
from design through implementation and commissioning. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, construction, technology, and cybersecurity teams to support the integration of control systems and communication equipment across BC Hydro generation facilities. Responsibilities
Support Generation capital project OT activities from design through implementation and commissioning. Design, implement, and support
ICS and OT network solutions
for generation facilities. Develop and maintain ITS network architectures. Integrate ICs devices and communication equipment into plant local area networks (LANs). Support capital, maintenance, lifecycle replacement, and cybersecurity projects. Participate in engineering design reviews, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and field implementation. Coordinate with engineering, operations, maintenance, technology, cybersecurity, and external vendors.
Maintain network infrastructure drawings and engineering documentation using AutoCAD. Support plant LAN design, device integration, and NERC CIP-related project work. Prepare technical procedures, work instructions, and engineering documentation. Provide periodic field support and site assessments. Qualifications
University degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering , or a related engineering discipline. Minimum
2 years of relevant engineering experience . Must be a registered
Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
at the time of submission. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and process diagrams. Ability to effectively present technical information to project teams and stakeholders. Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering drawing standards. Assets
Familiarity with
industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), and communications networks . Experience supporting capital projects, maintenance programs, or industrial infrastructure. Familiarity with
NERC CIP
standards and compliance. Advanced Excel and Visio skills. This position is based out of
BC Hydro’s Edmonds office in Burnaby
with a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates must successfully complete the required
background check and drug & alcohol testing
prior to starting.
