Pursue impactful education initiatives with Qalipu First Nation as an Education Outreach Officer in Gander, Newfoundland. You will enhance Indigenous education and child/youth programming in this community-focused role.
This temporary position runs through March 31, 2027, with potential for extension. The Education Outreach Officer will be essential in delivering the Education Outreach and Outdoor Education Programs, coordinating community engagement activities, and supporting cultural initiatives. You will work closely with the manager to develop and implement special projects while promoting the programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in coordinating school visits and events • Deliver outdoor education with supervision and instruction • Coordinate community engagement sessions effectively • Write reports and support promotion of initiatives • Engage in activities that support Mi'kmaq culture
Requirements: • Minimum two-year diploma in related field • One year experience with child/youth programs • Skills in program coordination and community engagement • Knowledge of Mi'kmaw culture • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
