What is the opportunity?
This role supports the Director of Electronic Trading Supervision in providing cross-asset governance and oversight of Global Markets electronic trading businesses to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The position involves executing supervisory activities, assessing automated controls within electronic trade flows, identifying risks, and maintaining strong relationships with front-office, technology, and control functions across RBC. What will you do?
Responsibilities:
Execute supervisory activity as part of the Electronic Trading Supervisory programme, with a specific focus on Global Markets Macro and Spread businesses. Ensure effective implementation, sustainability, and oversight of designated FO Supervisory and Risk Management controls within Global Markets, specifically relating to Electronic Market Access and regulatory requirements. Work alongside front-office and technology teams to understand how electronic trade flows are controlled. Inventory and assess the effectiveness of automated controls in those trade flows. Identify risks, enhancement opportunities and make recommendations to strengthen controls. Forge partnerships with control colleagues across RBC such as legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology control functions. Anticipate and proactively seek out future challenges to ensure future-proofing electronic trading activity. Escalate, manage, and report control issues succinctly, with clarity and transparency. Foster, develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior functional and business management in order to adequately support the business. Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols. What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
At least 3 years’ experience in a global markets business/setting, or equivalent experience in a management consultancy/advisory capacity Familiarity with electronic trading activity, including risks and expected controls Solid understanding of financial markets,
with strong product knowledge of Macro and Spread Experience completing process walkthroughs, and identifying, documenting and assessing controls Experience handling, analyzing and using large datasets to achieve business outcomes Experience creating management reporting Solid understanding of financial markets and broad awareness of global regulatory frameworks Understanding large and complex application development projects Fluency with key risk areas such as operational, technology and regulatory risk Comfortable working in a quick-paced environment Ability to collaborate and manage projects in a complex matrixed organization Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Nice-to-have:
Ability to work with ambiguity and navigate a highly regulated environment. Experience leading complex global cross-business projects. Project management certifications and strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies What’s in it for you?

The expected pay range for this position is: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting.
