IWK Health is seeking a psychologist to join their Preschool Autism Services team in Halifax. Your focus will be on high-quality diagnostic assessments for preschool-aged children suspected of autism.
In this part time position, you will hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and engage in clinical assessments while collaborating with families and healthcare professionals. The role contributes significantly to making autism assessments accessible and efficient. Working with an integrated team, you will empower caregivers with education and support tailored to individual child needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct autism assessments for preschool and school-age children • Collaborate on interprofessional autism intervention services • Deliver family education and coaching • Support clinical care coordination efficiently • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery
Requirements: • PhD in Clinical Psychology and relevant supervised experience • Training in autism assessment protocols required • Competent in psychological diagnosis and treatment methodologies • Mentorship experience with clinical teams beneficial • Passion for equitable mental health service delivery
