Maintenance Manager – Oshawa, ON

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and reliability manufacturing facilities in a large, global CPG organization. This leader will oversee Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Reliability/Engineering resources, and approximately 80+unionized skilled trades employees.

The Senior Maintenance Manager will drive equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, operational excellence, capital projects, cost optimization, and talent development across unionized manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead maintenance and reliability strategy across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Manage and develop Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, and skilled trades teams.
- Drive improvements in maintenance capital projects, PM compliance, and maintenance costs.
- Lead preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
- Establish standardized maintenance practices, KPIs, and reliability processes across sites.
- Partner with Operations and Engineering on automation, controls, modernization, and capital projects.




- Manage multi-million-dollar maintenance budgets, contractors, spare parts, and resources.
- Lead RCA, TPM, Lean, Continuous Improvement, and breakdown-elimination initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Work closely with HR and Labour Relations in unionized environments.
- Build a strong maintenance leadership and succession pipeline.

Must-Have Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline – mandatory.
- 5+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Proven experience leading unionized manufacturing sites.
- Strong leadership experience managing Maintenance Supervisors, and large skilled-trades teams.
- Experience within CPG, food, beverage, consumer products, pharmaceutical, or highly automated manufacturing.
- Experience managing large capital projects and multi-million-dollar maintenance budgets.
- Strong knowledge of CMMS, preventive/predictive maintenance, RCM, TPM, Lean, and reliability programs.
- Solid financial, operational, communication, and people-leadership skills.
