Contribute to mental health support as a full time Addictions Counsellor at Regina General Hospital. Engage with patients in crisis, develop treatment plans, and ensure effective referrals.
This temporary position offers the chance to work within the Mental Health Inpatient Support Services, focusing on substance use and related mental health issues. You will assess individuals' needs, provide short-term counselling, and coordinate stabilization services to facilitate ongoing support. Connection with community resources and crisis management skills are crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess client's substance use and mental health needs
• Develop individualized treatment and safety plans
• Coordinate referrals to long-term treatment resources
• Maintain knowledge of relevant internal and community services
• Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Social Work or Chemical Dependency diploma
• Understanding of Saskatchewan recovery services
• Strong written communication and computer skills
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
• Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds
