PetroChina Canada (PCC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of PetroChina Company Limited which is partially owned by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), a state-owned enterprise. CNPC is China’s largest oil company and the world’s third largest oil company, operating 91 energy-related projects in over 35 countries and regions. PCC has invested billions of dollars in an asset-rich portfolio of upstream, midstream and downstream operations. In Alberta, this includes our MacKay River and Dover oilsands projects, Duvernay Shale Gas and a 50% interest in the Grand Rapids Pipeline. In British Columbia, we hold joint venture interests in the Groundbirch tight gas project and LNG Canada.

PetroChina Canada is recruiting for a Talent Development Analyst to join the HR & Communications team in Calgary.

Reporting to the Lead, Talent Development, the Talent Development Analyst will support functional activities and contribute to the broader HR & Communications team. This role will be responsible for administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and associated assignments, execution of the annual Performance Management cycle and will contribute to companywide training, learning and employee development initiatives.

The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning platforms (e.g. HSSE, cybersecurity):

Configure LMS updates and complete system testing, including running test scripts and acceptance testing

Maintain employee data integrity with respect to system interfaces (SAP and LMS) and resolve auto-feed errors

Assign, track and report on training assignments/certifications and support users with troubleshooting to ensure compliance

Support ongoing system improvements and efficiencies to ensure LMS solutions meet organizational needs and provide positive user experiences

Execute the annual Performance Management program within the LMS:

Configure and launch annual Performance Management processes, including goal setting,



mid-year review and year-end review

Act as the primary point of contact for users and provide coaching and technical support

Support compliance activities by tracking completion status and following up with users and leaders as required

Manage the delivery of in-class and virtual training logistics, including event set up, facility and resource booking, technology arrangements and attendance tracking

Track the individual training request process in support of employee professional development

Support projects related to organizational competency, leadership, succession planning and employee development

Identify and recommend improvements to training programs, systems, and delivery approaches

Support content development and maintenance activities for the corporate Knowledge Centre and training materials

Respond to audit and information requests in a timely mannerWork with Knowledge Management Advisor on ad hoc projects and activities

Assist the HR & Communications team with additional tasks and projects as required

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in related field

4-6 years of previous experience in training or learning & development

Previous experience with LMS administration and aptitude for HR systems and technologies

Previous experience supporting LMS migration projects preferred

Previous experience working in oil & gas or a similar industry preferred

Demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills and problem-solving abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to develop strong relationships and provide excellent client service

Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals

Capable of handling pressure and challenges in a energetic business environment

Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities

Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently

Strong attention to detail
