What You'll Do Reporting to the Business Integration Supervisor, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Department and, Commissioner of Community Development, and is responsible for telephone reception, mail pick-up, distribution and preparation for the department. The Administrative Assistant has primary responsibility for coordinating file management for the department in accordance with standard corporate procedures and is also responsible for maintaining daily calendars for management. The Administrative Assistant routinely provides organizational support for meetings.
What We're Looking For Education & Experience
Two-year post-secondary diploma in Business or Office Administration
Two years of previous experience in a public-facing administrative role
Skills & Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to prioritize and to multi-task
Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing setting
Ability to write and format moderately complex correspondence, including memos and letters
Demonstrated time management skills
Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
High level of integrity and work ethic
Meticulous records maintenance skills
Preparation of agendas and meeting packets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
