Pursue a rewarding career as a Gladue Pathways Support Navigator with MKO, located in Winnipeg, The Pas, or Thompson. Support Indigenous individuals in navigating the criminal justice system.
In this full-time term position, you will work directly with Indigenous relatives to develop and implement healing-oriented plans. As a cultural guide, you will utilize trauma-informed practices to prepare Gladue Reports, fostering accountability and wellness within the community. Collaborate with First Nations, Elders, and local organizations to create effective support systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather life histories through interviews with affected individuals
• Facilitate access to essential community-based support services
• Prepare and submit Gladue Reports reflecting individual stories
• Monitor Healing & Wellness Plans to ensure ongoing support
• Promote culturally safe and healing-centered program delivery
Requirements:
• Post-secondary qualification in Indigenous studies or related fields
• Proven experience in restorative justice and engagement with communities
• Strong understanding of Gladue and Indigenous justice systems
• Robust communication, networking, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to travel and work outside regular hours as needed
